Apply today and take the next bold step in your leadership journey! The position As a Senior Manager, your role involves overseeing the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) cluster, developing processes and capabilities to support the needs of the company.
The cluster consists of category managers that together are responsible for outsourcing building blocks, intermediates, and starting materials to support the internal Yeast API production as well as specific outsourced biologically produced API’s. You will be a hands-on leader that supports and in some instances drives the development of category strategies, specific contracts, and safeguards the strategic relationship with our external partners.
Your key responsibilities include: Leading, mentoring, and inspiring the team to maximize their potential, nurturing talent and driving change with a continuous improvement mindset Driving cluster's performance, ensuring contracting, supplier collaboration, and risk assessments are all managed timely and according to internal procedures Engaging directly in high-impact projects such as major acquisitions, new business models, or other category-related initiatives Building and sustaining strategic supplier relationships, conducting risk assessments, identifying opportunities, including deep supply market expertise Acting as a representative of the cluster in various organizational forums Securing capacities to support Novo Nordisk requirements for volumes and robust supply chains are contracted Additionally, you are expected to oversee categories within the API cluster with your deep understanding of market and business dynamics, leveraging your expertise to drive strategic initiatives aligned with organizational goals. With a strategic, enterprise-wide mindset, you consistently focus on enhancing our strategic capabilities while prioritizing quality in all responsibilities and securing timely execution.
Qualifications To be successful in this role, we believe you: Hold a master’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, project management, engineering, or another related field Bring a minimum of 12 years of experience in strategic sourcing, direct procurement, or category management across a large international organization Demonstrate solid leadership and people management abilities, training, guiding, and mentoring high-performing teams Showcase strong communication and stakeholder management skills, serving as a constructive sparring partner across the organisation Display proficiency in both spoken and written English On a personal level, you are an empathetic and authentic leader with strong communication skills and a strategic mindset, effortlessly building trust within your team and bridging cultural and organisational gaps in a complex stakeholder landscape.

We have the global direct spend responsibility of managing a network of outsourced partnerships for Product Supply.
Our team is committed to optimizing and strategically sourcing essential fine chemical compounds, excipients, and APIs for Novo Nordisk´s final products, securing external resources to meet the demands of Novo Nordisk's crucial medicines Our DSO department is a dynamic and diverse team of Category Managers with different levels of experience, nationalities, and backgrounds.
The department has direct impact for Novo Nordisk ability to supply to patients.
