The Position As a Downstream Development Scientist, you will develop robust and scalable downstream processes (eg.
purification, filtration, enzymatic modification etc.) both by hands-on laboratory work and in close collaboration with our CDMOs/CMOs.
Your main tasks will be to: Perform, evaluate and report experimental work in the laboratory and analyse the data Collaborate with laboratory technicians, including trouble shooting on technical issues Ensure a seamless flow of technical and scientific knowledge between Novo Nordisk and our external partners, whose activities you will be supporting, including review of documents and troubleshooting during production Participate in cross-functional project groups and professional collaboration forums Innovate in experimental design and optimization, identifying new solutions to technical problems, data handling and secure IPR You can look forward to a broad range of exciting challenges and the opportunity to work with highly skilled colleagues feeding into your personal and professional development.

Qualifications To succeed in this role, you have: A master’s degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, chemical/bioprocess engineering or similar and a Ph D degree or experience from a relevant position Industrial experience in process development and/or outsourcing is an advantage but not a requirement Theoretical understanding and lab experience within downstream processing steps such as chromatography, UF/DF, enzymatic reactions and supporting analytics, a plus if they involved purification of plasmid DNA or m RNA We operate in a fast-changing environment, with an increasing level of automation and digitalization.
It is therefore considered an advantage to be an innovative individual with ability and experience within the areas of mechanistic modelling, machine learning or statistic modelling for experimental design. As a person, you enjoy collaborating, learning, and sharing information with others.

You possess excellent communication and collaboration skills enabling you to interact with your many stakeholders from different functions and parts of the organisation. About the Department The job is placed in the department Downstream Development in CMC Development & Scaling, located in Bagsværd, Denmark.
Our main responsibility is to develop downstream purification processes for APIs used in clinical trials.
We do so in close collaboration with the research and manufacturing units, pilot facilities, and Contract Manufacturing Organisations (CMOs).
The department has 100+ employees divided in 8 teams that work together.
Currently, we are expanding the gene therapy area within the company and developing technologies involving process development for plasmid DNA, m RNA, LNP and AAV particles. Working at Novo Nordisk At Novo Nordisk, we don’t wait for change.
