Industrial Ph D Scholarship in Machine Learning for Drug Discovery Are you ready to drive innovation in pharmaceutical research? Lundbeck and DTU Compute are seeking an ambitious candidate for a Ph D project that aims to leverage machine learning to accelerate the research and development of new medicines! Your new role In this Industrial Ph D project, you will focus on developing supervised machine learning models that can detect behavioural and electrophysiological features of brain disorders in rodents as well as efficacy of new drug treatments, ultimately contributing to the creation of an AI-enabled toolbox for drug development.
This position offers a unique chance to work with advanced deep learning methods and collaborate with experts in both neuroscience and data science, all while being a part of a vibrant research community.
Your future team You will be part of the Neuroscience research unit located at Lundbeck headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark, and will be collaborating with data scientists at Lundbeck and DTU Compute section for Cognitive Systems.

What you bring to the team We are looking for candidates with: A two-year master's degree (120 ECTS) in Computer Science, Computational Science, Mathematical Modelling, Neuroscience, or equivalent.
You may apply prior to obtaining your master's degree but must complete it prior to 13 June 2025.
An interest in biology and neuroscience, and in applying data science methods to biomedical questions.
Experience with Python or R programming for data science as well as a solid background in machine learning, particularly with deep learning frameworks like Ja X or Py Torch.
Familiarity with Bayesian machine learning, probabilistic programming, and database query languages Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with fluency in English.
